The influence of Delcourt

25 years in the life of a comic strip publisher

Twenty-five years after his first publication, Guy Delcourt is still a comic strip enthusiast. And although this publisher’s catalogue is both large and varied, he himself remains as constant as he was at the very outset, with an unwavering passion for comic strip in all its forms and an impartiality as to styles or genres.

To transform what an artist seeks to convey through his work into a product that embodies what a reader hopes for, desires or expects, such is the work of an editor.  And this is the aim of the exhibition, entitled “The influence of Delcourt”, to be held at the  Belgian Comic Strip Center.  By means of rare and original documents and in an often amusing way, it aims to demonstrate and explain the evolution of a work, from its gestation in the mind of the creator to the end product, the album offered to the reader.
